What it is

The Applied AI Engineer — sometimes Generative AI Developer — is the broad, practical builder: someone who puts generative models to work on real tasks and ships the result.

It is the catch-all on many job boards, and an honest one: the emphasis is on application over theory, outcome over novelty.

Less concerned with advancing the frontier, more with the unglamorous, valuable work of making today's models do something worth doing.

What you'd do

• Favour what is useful over what is novel
• Build, test and ship practical AI features
• Keep the outcome, not the technique, in view
